WWW

I need to learn how to create radio broadcasts with adobe audition.  I know how to record my voice and bring in a wav file to the multitrack view, but I can't figure out how to get my voice to come in at a designated time after the music has played for a few seconds.....is there a way to move the files in the timelines?  If so, how?  I also need to know how to bring in the music and announcer at the end of my speaking to end the program....

I'm new at this and really need to learn so I can create my radio broadcast.

I also need to learn how to adjust the volume of the wav file....when i tried to mix my voice with the music wav file - the music was louder than my voice........what's the best thing to adjust and how?

Is there a place online where I can learn how to do this?  I have downloaded the basic lesson files from audiomaster.org....those were great lessons!!!!  I wish I could get lessons like this to learn how to do the whole radio program.....can you suggest anything to me?  HELP.   huh

Sounds as if you're in a real hurry, or you might have looked in the application's help files, or the manual.

Okay, I'll help a little bit - there's many ways to get to different things, but here's a couple.

Right-click-drag waveblocks to move them in time, or to a different track entirely. When everything is in place, highlight the track and hit the lock on the toolbar to lock it in time so you don't indavertently move it (which you will, someday....)

I suggest you also hit Alt+2 and open the mixer! You can make all your global volume adjustments for your tracks there - and then there's volume envelopes that you can draw right on the waveblocks (for fades, etc.) Activate those from the toolbar, also.

A little time looking around in the context-based help would probably go a long way toward making this happen quicker, though - then come back with specific questions if you have them. Most of this is basic operational stuff.

Best... -Jon

WWW

Hello - I was able to move the files where I needed them to come in in the multitrack view and figured out how to mix it all together.  THANKS.

I still have a question.....(learning remember)  Cool  when my music begins....then after a few seconds I come in with my voice....I need to make the music lower at that point so I can be heard.....it looks like I have to adjust the music levels before I do the mixdown....correct?  What I don't understand is .... how can I make the music go up or down - and keep it adjusted for the mixdown?  I start out with it louder - then when my voice comes in I need to adjust it lower.....is there a way to set it to do this or ?   Or do I just set it at a level to begin with and then it has to stay like that?

Thanks

"Use the volume envelopes on the music track. "

To elaborate on this a bit more, in multi-track view you'll see a little box on the tool bar (upper right) with three little white squares with a green line connecting them. Make sure this button is pushed in (it enables envelopes). There's also a button (about 5 to the left) with "db" on it -- make sure that is pushed in as well. Now when you click on a waveform, you'll see a green line running across the top. This controls the volume. You can click and drag this line down and up where needed.

Hope this helps!
