There is no review - and I have to say that one bit of information in that report is factually wrong - but I'm not allowed to tell you which bit! And when I say 'wrong', I mean totally wrong...

That sounds like a pretty good opinion to me, especially coming from MIX Magazine. Considering the vast number of new upgrade software releases this fall, any mention is a good thing.

I don't recall reading about the Tops and Tails thing before.

That sounds more like what the Audition staff would have let him say about it - there's no way that the Mix reporter (not really reviewer) would have got his hands on it for long enough to have been able to come to any sort of impartial conclusion about it based on actually using it. And as I mentioned earlier, one thing he said is factually wrong.

But what's he actually said anyway? It's a major upgrade. Well, duh.... and I don't measure features by the ton, personally. Audition has always been a 'powerhouse' (whatever that means), so anybody saying that it's not a serious audio tool is living on another planet anyway.

Seriously, I don't think that you should take any opinion like this as definitive in any way at all - wait, and make your own mind up.

That's the whole point - you won't find out how well it works for you until you've tried it. Mix magazine isn't impartial, by any means.

It really doesn't matter much to me anyway, as I've already made up my mind about it and pre-ordered it ten days ago. My experience with Adobe is that their software usually does work as advertised.

I hate to be rude or critical, but those forums are a mess. Sometimes when I log in there, I get a randomly assortment of posts one time, and most recently posted posts another time. Trying to log on just flat out doesn't work. Then of course as others have reported,  the "new" buttons are always on new. I'm seriously hoping I don't have similar issues with AA3.

Whether or not it's a regurgitation of the company line, I'm glad to see Mix giving it publicity.  While I can't speak to Mix's previous coverage of Audition specifically, I do know that some of the major audio magazines have ignored it in the past.  So seeing kind pre-publicity from a major magazine on an unreleased upgrade to our favorite software is really a pretty new and nice deal.  Especially considering that we never have known before when the upgrades would come.
