All has been working perfectly normally on my PC when opening audio files from a folder to be played in
Adobe Audition 1.5 until recently.
Now, for some strange reason, every time I double click on an audio file in a folder, or from an e-mail, Adobe Audition launches but it’s empty – the individual file isn’t itself launched. The only way I can access the file is to go to ‘
Open’ within Audition, search for the file and then open it and play it. As you can imagine it is becoming extremely frustrating!
Today someone kindly tried turning off
'Play On External Launch' (?) in their
Adobe Audition 2.0 ‘Properties’ and they got the same result – however so far I can’t find a
“Play On External Launch” option anywhere in 1.5.
For your further info, in order to try rule out other possibilities:
1. If I right click when going to open an audio file from a folder, choose 'Open With' / 'Choose program', highlight ‘Adobe Audition’ and tick 'Always use selected program to open this kind of file' it makes no difference. Adobe Audition and the file are launched and the audio automatically starts playing.
If I then go back to the file in the folder and double click it - I'm back to square one with an 'empty' Adobe Audition launching without the audio file I’m trying to open!
2. If I chose another media player with 'Always use selected program to open this kind of file' such as Real or Windows Media Player, that programme launches and the audio plays. The issue appears to be only with Audition...
3. If I right click when going to open an audio file from a folder, and choose 'Open With' followed by 'Adobe Audition'. The Audition launches empty once again.
4. As previously indicated, I can open files without any problem from within Audition using 'File'/'Open' etc.
Much head scratching going on here!!!
Any thoughts gratefully received!![/list]
