I just gave up a couple of days back, and will wait until Ozpeter lets us know that he thinks it works. It appeared to me that my old screen name existed, but the system wouldn't accept my password, but now the login procedure seems to just lead to an endless loop.

It appears I never provided an e-mail address to Adobe before, at least they say so. Therefore I have no account to log into. When I try to create one, to "Register," the parameter screen will go nowhere. Neither the "Check Availability" button nor the "Continue" button function; there is no response from clicking on either. Is this a known glitch that should soon be resolved or do they just not want anyone new bothering the old gang?

The whole thing is screwed over big-time. Now, it can't remember who I am, so I've had to use the 'other' login (not that it makes much difference...)

I get the distinct impression that they don't want anybody bothering them at all. That's not forum software they are running - it's a bad joke.

What an infernal mess.  And by now I'd expect it to at least remember which topics I've read, but every last one is marked new every single time.  Oh why bother... we could gripe forever if we get started.  Two failures... third time's the charm?

WWW

I have two Adobe logins and one Macromedia login.

Only one has been used with the forum, and that is working fine now; it also accepted my preorder for Audition 2 and displays it (this is actually my carried-forward CoolEdit login).  My Macromedia login is accepted, but has no useful information online.  My other Adobe login (which I used to buy Audition 2) is recognised, but gives an error when I try to log in (I know that the password is right, because the error changes ) - so I can't see my old orders.

One and a half out of three, I guess.

Ouch.

Good possibility they're not the same programmers.

I hate to be rude or critical, but those forums are a mess. Sometimes when I log in there, I get a randomly assortment of posts one time, and most recently posted posts another time. Trying to log on just flat out doesn't work. Then of course as others have reported,  the "new" buttons are always on new. I'm seriously hoping I don't have similar issues with AA3.

Why on earth would there be similar issues with AA3?  The implication of your statement is that Adobe has only one development team, looking after product development and web forums.  This is, frankly, ridiculous. Even for the people here who aren't programmers (probably most people), it has been made pretty clear that the Audition / Soundbooth team is essentially the old Syntrillium team.  I don't think Adobe are likely to have moved the web development team (which would be using entirely differently programming languages and technologies) on to AA3 development.  (They'd be too busy with their own problems to help the AA3 team, if nothing else.   evil)  Nor would the audio software development team have been conscripted into web development.

There is some evidence that the forum revamp was done to a timetable rather than to a state of readiness.

Does that sound familiar??

Meanwhile, ordering the forums by number of view continues to make interesting reading.  Soundbooth discussions are radically more read than Audition forums.  OK, maybe people using Soundbooth need all the help they can get, but still it's rather odd.

May be it's as simple as that Adobe got their market research right.  evil

Official Adobe Audition Forums to be closed shortly...

Judging from the amount of posts over the last few days, I'd say that they've almost completely succeeded with that, certainly in Audition's case anyway...  grin

then reopened....

Presumably when the management gets bored with the present arrangement, they will revert back to a version that people can actually use... (without 100% frustration.)

It just seems odd that Adobe, one of the world's largest software developers, would have problems constructing a simple forum software program that would work right, at first try. At least it should have been set up and tested, BEFORE releasing it, and making it the official goto site. A v bullitin board would have been just fine, but noooooooo.....
