I have found a link to my 2nd cousin's music from the 40's. (Soviet Jazz) It finally appeared after the link dried up YEARS ago. I want to snag it NOW, master it...and HAVE it, so I have stuff to show my son and further generations where their roots have come from. The problem is, I don't think I have that "record what you hear" function on my soundcard/mixer. I am using a Dell P4/WIN XP/Delta 66 Omni Studio/Adobe Audition 1.5. Can someone give me a hand??? Thanks dudes!!!  ---Lee

I have used a product called Total Recorder for this sort of stuff, but I think more alternatives may have popped up in the intervening years.  Some may even be free.

Selecting the Delta's "Monitor Mix" as the input should do the trick.

Yes, that's it exactly. Set your track input to the Monitor Mixer and you can record to your heart's content. Make sure your volume levels are all turned up in the M-Audio control panel.

Sounds simple enough. I tried some combos, but I guess the above was not one of them.   huh  In a pinch, I routed the "outs" into the "inputs" and that worked. I suppose using my brain, such as you guys have, and do this with the internal switching would be a good idea.  shocked D'OH!! shocked   Thanks. I'll give it a shot.  ---Lee
