I know theres a way that you can just remove the voice from a song and keep just the music, how would you do that? Specifically, I need to just take out the words for about 2 seconds of a song...

Hey hey.
There is a difference between what he's asking about, and making karaoke.

True - probably. It does appear to relate to the removal of undesirable words, with which I wish him good luck, the cause being a worthy one (which probably shows my age).

I understand there is a difference between his desired goal and making karaoke, but the mechanics of it are the same. and there is a vocal removal thread at the top of the page...
Of course I hope he achieves what he is after. I just wish people would use the search function..
For example, my post count has stayed under 100 because 90% of the time, if the answer to my questions is not in the manual, it is either in one of the online tutorials or has been covered in a past thread by one of you that knows tons more about the program and recording in general, than I do.
I don't believe its out of line to expect or at least hope for the same from other users.. especially when it comes to "Vocal Removal"; regardless of its intended purpose. If, in fact, I am out of line, Then I most humbly apologize.

William's link is to a thread where ProSupport suggested an enhanced technique for removing an offensive word rather than a whole vocal, which is the difference - it seems from the title and second sentence of the question - on this occasion. I doubt whether the questioner could readily have found that particular one amongst the welter of others! - indeed, I have to say I wouldn't have remembered it myself - nice one, William. But the first sentence taken alone makes one reach for the sticky thread! The main thing is that all-in-all the questioner has now had the best advice available on the subject. :)
