Hi. Which CE file has the settings I create? I want to back it up. I tried a search, but it wouldn't load.
Oh, and while I'm at it, I'll ask another completely unrelated question here rather than start a new thread - I deleted all my internet temp files the other day, so I had to log in when I came back here, but the cookie hasn't been stored since then, despite my ticking the little box. How do you get a cookie to stick? Throw it at the wall before it's baked?

Go here and see my post towards the bottom. Then pay attention to Synt M.D.'s response.
'Saving effect settings.'
Can't answer your question about the cookie.

There's also some setup stuff (eg colours and keyboard shortcuts) in the registry - health warnings! - a search should reveal a previous Syntrillium response on this.

Yeah, I remembered it as being the cool.ini, but when I went looking for it, I couldn't fint it. I still can't find it. Not in 2.1, not in 1.2. Where does the cool.ini file reside?
I've got a sick computer here that needs a Win98 reinstall, and I'm putting backups together.

S'okay. I found it in the Windows folder. Just about backed up now for the reinstall. I would say 'I hate Win 98 reinstalls' except that would make it plural, and I've only ever done it once before.

I had the same problem. I get agressive in deleting the darn things...they ruin my virtual figure! But I could not get the log-in cookie to reappear, no matter what I did. Then, one day, it was back. Don't know why, wasn't about to argue.
