burning CDs

Does anybody know if Premiere has the ability to burn CDs as well as Video disks?  Cuz if it does, I don't have to lobby for that functionality on the next version.  One needs to think ahead, I mean. 

Nope - Premiere doesn't burn CDs.  So that capacility now remains on my CS6 wishlist. 

You answered your own question, but the reasoning is really quite simple: authoring a basic CD is really rather straightforward and a relatively simple process, achievable in many software and hardware solutions; authoring a DVD has so many variables and complexities, it puts the whole problem on a different plane.  So it makes more sense for Premiere to come with a discmaker than Audition -- though I wish it still did, and better than what we have now.

I  now use Nero 10 Burning ROM - as suggested by others here in this forum. Works great. Burns two disks at once. Flawless.

Good to know - thanks.  I've been having a ton of grief using the Win 7 disk burning facility.  It generates coasters.
