Audio book formatting?
Is there a standard for formatting audio books? Single track with markers at chapters? File per chapter with markers at intervals? Getting ready to record one. I've no problem with speech recording/editing but don't have any experience with delivery as an audio book.

Unfortunately it depends on what it's going to be listened to on. If you google AudioBook Metadata, you'll get a fairly good idea of what you are up against.

Re: Audio book formatting?
Thanks Steve. I'd already begun the Google quest but hadn't thought to include metadata as a keyword. It seems that the basic distribution choices are mp3 with an m3u playlist or Apple's m4b. Looks like I'll have to install itunes to encode an m4b file. Will have to power up the "b" machine in the studio as I refuse to have itunes running on any of my everyday computers.
If anyone knows of any other format for an audio book I'd be grateful for a heads up.
