Distortion

Is there any way to correct (or at least improve) distortion in a stereo mix?  I am working on a older analog recording from about 30 years ago that has some vocal distortion.  Just wondering if anything can be done about this problem at this stage -- or if you just have to live with it.

Some distortion isn't completely random, so I suppose that with the correct analysis software it would be possible to identify unwanted characteristics of a waveform.

At this point, live with it.  No tools exist, at least that I've heard of.

It is possible that the Clip Restoration tool might help but if the overload has caused intermodulation distortion then it is mixed back down into the audio and cannot be removed.
