AA3 won't recognize NeroMP4

The Nero MP4 filter is installed in my AA main directory. It's supposed to enable Audition to decode/encode this format. However, when trying to test it I got a "Can't find Nero Plugin folder" message. Is there something wrong? Should it be installed somewhere else?
I've read about Adobe developing an AAC/MP4 encoder, but haven't been able to find it.

You will find that either in these forums, or the Synt archive, most questions have been aired in one form or another, often several times. It's always worth doing a search...

FWIW I just encountered a problem extracting audio from a client's quicktime file.  The file was h.264 video and aac audio at 32KHz/16bit.  Unfortunately each time I brought the audio into audition it came out with some pretty nasty pops in it throughout the file.  These pops did not exist when the .mov was played outside Audition.  The solution?  Thanks to a poster in this thread: http://audiomastersforum.net/amforum/index.php/topic,6013.0.html  I downloaded media coder and extracted the audio to .wav before bringing it into Audition.  Strange though that AA kludged it up.
