Audition Files in Protools

Hey there guys I have been working on tracking in Adobe Audition. I am trying to get the sessions mixed externally in a studio that of course uses Protools.  I bounce out each individual track to wavs to import into protools, but just found out that Protools cannot open these files. I thought wav files were wav files and were universal so there would be no conflict, however that does not seem to be the case. Is there anything I can do to save each wav files in order for protools to be able to open them, or am I screwed here?

Are these 32-bit files?  I think Pro Tools works with 24-bit, so you may have to save the files in that format.

I guess the default was set to 32 but if I save it to 24 should that automatically fix that problem?

Yes - Protools can't handle 32 bit files but is perfectly happy to open 24 bit files created in Audition (well at least in Audition 1.5 - I don't know about version 3).

The version of AA doesn't matter - as long as it is a standard 24 bit wav.

Hi, my first post!

I do mix and master work and just wanted to tell you that when working with engineers, there are certain things that should raise "red flags" that you should be worried about.  One of them is them not being able to get around this issue; all "pro" engineers should have a capable editor that converts files from (using your example) 32bit float to 24bit files (I know I've used Audition to batch convert some clients' 32bit float files to 24bit files to load up in a PT session).
