AA3 Freezing up.....Sort of
On 2 separate occasions (both in the same evening), AA3 has frozen up leaving me to close it from the task manager. But the really weird thing it wasn't completely frozen. I could still "play" (but only when in MV) by hitting the space bar, and I could toggle between EV and MV using F12. As far ask I know, these are the only things I could do. i couldn't close the program down or do anything else.
This happened both times to me while adding effects in edit view. The 1st time it was "center channel extractor" and I believe the 2nd time was an echo effect or something"
I should mention, I'm using the trial version.
Has anybody come across this before? Is this a known bug? I've searched the forums but haven't found anything. Should I just reinstall?
Thanks in advance.
Randy.

Re: AA3 Freezing up.....Sort of
maybe . . . I've experience similar behavior when previewing effects in EV and it appears that more then one person has reported similar (though seldom exactly the same) responses . . .
both my experience and info from others with similar issues seems to suggest that it is something primarily a function of the software rather then purely application interaction with a specific system. That said not everyone using the program has these problems
but I do think of this as a 'bug' and I would surprised, pretty much to the point of cardiac arrest, if Adobe acknowledged it, or addressed it any, except perhaps with the next scheduled version release (or the one after that)
on the other hand rather then something akin to preview issues it might similar to the freeze I experience when I accidentally miskey a hot key sequence . . . there are several Fx where even if there does not appear to be a function assigned to the keys I actually strike the app freezes and I have to exit from task manager
I am using build 7283

I should have mentioned this in my previous post as wee but I forgot. It actually makes it more frustrating that you have some ability to function, but very limited. Worst of all it won't let you save. And when you start-up Audition again, it doesn't give you the option to continue. I'm not positive on this but I'm pretty sure in 2.0, if you shut it down from task manager, it would allow you to continue where you left off.

It would be helpful if you could give us a run-down on your machine - hardware and software, as these things are often contributory factors in problems like this
