Right-click on an MP3 > Opens With > Choose Audition from the list if you've used it recently or 'choose program'. But why on earth would you want to run Audition everytime you want to play an MP3?

It's beneficial as I only utilize it for production purposes.  I know there is way to make it my default player without having to actually click on the mp3 file to assign it a player.

from any win explorer window (and lots of other places) go to tools menu>folder options>file types

scroll to 'MP3', from there it should be self explanatory

see attached screen shot

Thanks oretez, that method works just fine.  There is a way to do it through AA which I'm still curious to reveal but you did solve the problem for me.
