I don't want to moan, well I suppose I am but is it possible to combine all the stickies in this section as the scrolling is too much and on my laptop it's up to 30 secs to get to the 1st topic (finger paddish thing). Could you not just title them "Stickies" There may be a few more of them you know. Sorry, it's kind've off topic! rolleyes

There doesn't seem to be an easy way to fix this problem at all - other than to combine them into a meta-thread, which I might consider. Alternatively, you could buy yourself a small mouse to go with your laptop, as I have done...

I couldn't see what the problem was, but then I realised why......

Instead of going to the individual forums, when I log in, I then click on "Show unread posts since last visit." - this takes you directly to the individual threads in each forum.  That way, unless you want to, you never even see the stickies.

I added a sub-forum here for stickies.  If anybody has a problem with it speak up, it can easily be changed back to the old setup.

The subforum is a good idea, and appears to have fixed the problem very neatly. I have to say though that using a proper mouse is still a good idea...

Many Thanks. The subforum looks tidy indeed. Funny enough, I have the tinyest mouse and with all the technology, I never even thought of using it. Now! where is it? grin

Well, I use a proper mouse on the desktop system while browsing this forum, and I also found the number of stickies in this part of the forum to be a navigation problem.  So thanks for moving them!  I think some of the themes make the stickies fairly indistinguishable from normal threads, and so all in all moving them is a good idea.

You can always change the number of lines scrolled with moving the mouse wheel by one notch to 5 or more, and then no amount of stickies will frighten you smiley

It was more the fact that in some themes the stickies looked the same as normal posts, so if you didn't see anything marked as new and you didn't realise all you were looking at were the stickies, then you'd never realise you needed to scroll down.  So, I'm still happy they've been moved.

Yay!!!

As a repeat visitor, the stickies bugged me.  Very new thread topics could wind up on the 2nd page a little too quickly for my taste, so thanks for fixing it.
