I have been using a software time calculator for some time now, it was a freebie from a company and they don't offer it or support it any more. Can anyone recommend a good software time calculator. Would be good if Audition had one built in actually! I would also be interested to know about any real (hold in the hand) time calculator, that adds up minutes and seconds.

Cheers,
Bernie

Hi Bernie

I use the Time Master ll from Calculated Industries Inc.

It adds up hours, minutes and seconds.

It is really a production timer which is hand held and also can be used to count down and count up time with all sorts of other useful functions.  It is useful when you are wanting to pre-fade and come out of a live broadcast exactly on time - driving a real audio desk (do such things still exist) without all these new fangled computer thingies ...  wink

I am sure there will be some newer software versions of production timers around now.

I have had my Time Master ll for over 10 years now and I'm not too sure if it is still on sale.

I think Canford Audio have something in their catalogue.

This looks like it.

A software time calculator sounds more like a program on a PC rather than something you hold.

 "time calculator" freeware

in Google brings up loads of hits.

I used to own a Casio hand-held calculator (I had to check the web for the type, it was an AL-8) that had this as one of its functions.  Might be worth checking to see if any of their current models does this.

A quick look around showed this is quite a rare feature.  I did find one calculator with time functions - the Sharp QS-2122H - which might be owrth looking at.

Funny this should come up now - it was exactly what I decided I needed yesterday! I ended up downloading a small utility called HMSCalc from Ricmrock Software. It's free and works - what more can I say?
