I am running Windows XP Home using Audition 2.0 and a Mackie Onyx Firewire mixer. 1GB of memory, two 60 GB 7200 rpm hard drives, 3.5 processor.

In multitrack view whenever I record a track, for some reason at the 2:50 second mark there is a one second gap in the recording where it just goes blank. When played back it simply sounds like the signal cuts out for a split second. When I try to record in Edit view, it does not happen.

I removed all unused software and defraged my hard drive, closed all unused applications that might be running and its still the strangest thing. Any ideas? Could it be the Mackie Driver that needs reinstalled? I ran the repair for Audition which essentially reinstalled the program and yet it still occured.
