I was wondering if someone might direct me in the right direction.  I have had a client ask me to do there voicemail for them. I have produced the audio.  What componet do you guys suggest for getting the audio into there voicemail so that it is clear and crisp?

Thanks

Wow... it's been almost 2 weeks and no-one's replied!
Hope you're still watching the thread, dude.
First question though... what sort of system are they using?
Don't be afraid to ask them.
It might be that they have someone who looks after transferring audio into the phone system for them, so it may be as simple as you supplying a CD or wav file or something like that.
If it turns out that they just have to record through the handpiece, I have achieved perfectly acceptable results by playing the recorded message at speaking volume (that bit is critical) from a boombox in a quiet room (ie no extraneous noise) into the handpiece from the same distance as you'd normally speak. In other words, put the speaker 2 inches from the mouthpiece of the phone and play the message at a normal "spoken voice" volume. You might be pleasantly surprised with the result.
Just don't act surprised in front of the client, ok?
Tell 'em that's how the pro's do it. Smiley

About 5 years ago I recorded all the voicemail prompts for an NEC system (don't recall the name of it now). The internal format for NEC used the Dialogic ADPCM "VOX" format which is directly supported by CEP/AA. I was able to load the new VOX files directly into the voicemail system.

In order to determine the supported format, I first saved a voicemail prompt from the system to a floppy and experimented with CEP to see what would load it (since the voicemail system did not save the file with an extension). You might check to see if the system you are using will allow you to save an existing voicemail prompt in the internal format in order to determine if CEP/AA supports it directly.
