That is disabled in the Education version.  So is Echo chamber.  Did you get one of those by mistake?

Not to my knowledge - it's the normal tryout version posted on Adobe's site.  It's supposed to be 'fully functioning' for 30 days.

Hmmm, so perhaps it's also disabled in the trial version.  Anyone else running the trial version who can check this?

Seems to work in the demo version I have. How strange...

Trial educational version?

(Sorry, that's pretty weak!)

When you say "doesn't work", you mean you can't even get the dialogue box for the notch filter to open?

No - I mean it doesn't work, as in not actually doing anything to the signal.  I can open  it, set levels and everything else you'd expect, it just does do anything.

Ah, ok, 'cause I found what I suspect to be a bug in the notch filter only a couple of weeks ago.
Convention would suggest that to use a notch filter, you'd type in negative values, correct?
But I found that you have to type in values without the minus sign for the notch filter to work. Give that a go, see if it helps any.

The notch filter seems to be one of those subtle effects (I guess that is exactly how you want it to be!).  If you open your waveform up in Spectral view can you spot the frequencies it is removing?  It seems to behave the exact same way as in version 1.5; at least on my machine.

The easy test is to create a white noise track, and apply the notch filter to this. In spectral view, it should be blindingly obvious if anything is happening or not.

.. which here seems to indicate that it's doing something - didn't go so far as to see if it's doing  the right thing.

Peter,
Did you notice the +ve/-ve thing?
Did you have to use -ve values or +ve values to get it to work?

Actually, no. The heading is "Attenuation". So it works as an electronics engineer like me would expect. i.e with +ve values.

In any case, it works here. But the Super Narrow selection takes out so little (I'm testing with white noise) that unless you are watching the Frequency analysis window closely as it happens, you may not notice a difference, both visually and aurally.
