1. Download 325 mgs. Not full size. Won't install.
2. Can't delete file. Logged off. Tried again to delete. Can't do it.

Btw downloaded file to separate harddrive for storage. Possibly AA2.0 is supposed to be downloaded to the drive where the OS is.

Rebooted PC. Able to delete file. Redownloaded trial. 470mgs. OK.

Going for the install!!!

Enter a clip into the multi-track section. expand it so it's wide enough for you to see the read control in the main box on the left, look for the "read" button, there's an arrow on the left that points towards it, click on that and a volume envelope/automation lane should pop into place, click on the + button to add more envelopes, panning, effects....

The problem is, you'll have to do your homework, and read up on it. Once you know how it works it's simple...but you do have to make an effort and learn a few new tricks.

Thanks. The benefit of this forum is people helping each other. Trial software from Adobe has no help files.

Loaded a 9632 session from AA1.5. Multitrack can't move an inch!!!
Need to find where the time / buffer controls are.
Thanks.

Mine has help files, but no manual (at least, if there is one, I can't find it).  I can't find a manual on the Adobe site either.  If these guys want me to spring so much money for an upgrade, I'd like some in-depth information about what I'm getting.

I'd suggest you read the Tutorials mentioned above (See Sticky), and goto the Adobe forums, and check out their forums and FAQ section, tons of info there.

and of course, do your own hands on experimenting.

Practice, practice, practice.

I'd much rather be able to download the manual than faff about with little odds and ends - which probably won't help me at all.

I think Graeme is a bit exceptional in that he will need less practice than most to get his head around what this software can do.  And I can sympathize with the unhelpfulness of having no manual.  However, Graeme, I cracked the docking panels / workspace issue and a few other thorny items by merely studying the help file, screen by screen...

So a word for anyone tripping over this, don't miss the obvious.  There's a button at the bottom of the Adobe Help Center screen - "Next Topic" - that is the equivalent of turning the page in the printed manual.

The printed manual is great if you need to read and study away from the computer.  The online help is great because you can instantly navigate to all references with a click without having to look up a page number.  The content appears to be, for all intents and purposes, identical.

Interesting that some seem to get the trial version with "help" functioning and others don't - maybe something to do with local browser settings??

To the best of my knowledge and belief, the printed manual, pdf manual, and help files are as close to identical as their varying format allow.  I was looking at the pdf the other day but quickly reverted to the "help" file as it seemed to present the info in a more separated manner (even though the info is the same).

In the main site forum FAQ section you can download my list of what menu command from 1.5 is now where in 2.0, and also a walk-through of how the workspaces are manipulated, plus there are FAQs covering what seemed to me to be questions likely to arise (several have!), plus links to key Adobe tech support notes.  I know some here hate those forums but hopefully just reading through that stuff shouldn't be too traumatic.

I've just done a conplete search of the system and I can find no documentation about Audition - other than a fe pdf's I'd already downloaded earlier.  So, it seems my huge download of the tryout version didn't contain any.  I'd have happily had the manual rather than the demo Smiley .

I realise the help files are likely to be the same as the manual - they always were - but I like to read the manual for a bit of software, curled up o the couch and wrapping myself around a nice malt, not glued to a monitor.

I had to search around for it because it was hidden in the Adobe Audition folder the installer made on the C drive, not with all the Audition 2 stuff in the Program Files/Adobe folder.

Does that help any?  From here:

You have to install the Audition 2.0 Help Center software.

AA 2.0: 2 Trk mixdown now sounds fine with ASIO Echo WDM.

Multitrack sound immediately breaks up and won't move forward. This is a session and files from AA1.5 (reneamed session for AA2.0).

There are spirits lurking here.....
