AKG headphone special from Sam Ash

My drummer called me last week and told me about an ad he got from Sam Ash music (1-800-4-SAM-ASH) which offered 3 pairs of AKG K-220M headphones for a grand total of $70.  These list at $150/pair, so I hopped on it.  The guy at Sam Ash said that it was a special that they sent out on a flyer, but he honored it over the phone even though I hadn't actually recieved the flyer myself.  The headphones just came in today, and they sound great!

OK, everyone.  I guess everybody's trying to get rid of these (apparately discontinued) headphones to make way for the newer models.  Cal clued me in (thanks man) to an even better deal on Musician's Friend:  19.99/pair.  Strangely enough, MF shows the list price to be 79.00 while Sam Ash shows it to be 149.99...  hmmm!  

Anyway, they're great headphones nonetheless.  Great sound inside, very quiet outside.  I'm a little irritated, but definitely not dissapointed in my purchase.  A good deal is still a good deal.

You could always contact Sam Ash and try to negotiate a return...  I'm not presently in the market for any MORE cans, but it does sound like (pun not intended)... a good deal!!

Well, I do plan on contacting them.  However, as I really need the headphones, I'm not sure I'd be willing to return them.

It will make me feel better to speak my peace though!
