Just wondering, since it's been about 11 days since as much as a peep has been heard from you guys.
Or are you purposely keeping your head down during all the recent gunfire ?
Anyway, I thought about posting something obscene, to get a reaction, but this seemed like a much better idea.

I seem to remember a recent post that mentioned the MD being "out on the road" hawking what was left of Syntrillium. As for the others, I don't really expect the "newest" to jump in seeing as their Adobe employees and well you know the old saying.... "don't bite the hand that feeds you"!

I was just wondering if there was even anybody present.
The MD's been away for several weeks, I heard all that, and I caught the update the other day from Steve.
But that's why I made a thread, so they could at least "shake the tree" without having to put themselves in a position........

William, you've raised an interesting question. Why has it taken so long for us to come to our senses? Click on the members page and it shows that the last posts for these guys are:
Syntrillium M.D. 6/19
ProSupport 6/20
Syntrillium Support 7/1
(There are other company individuals who help out here less regularly.)
As Kylen said elsewhere, change smacks you between the eyes... we and they are all experiencing this. It's been a sweet ride. All good things must come to an end, though it's rather tough to explain why this is always so, isn't it?

Could also be that, somebody's there, but ignoring this thread.
Maybe it's a test ! :D
I threatened to post something obscene, and how much do you wanna bet, if I did, it would not go uncensored.
But really, I'd like to think I'm above that sort of thing. But I'd also like to think that they would be above playing games like this. :O
Oh well.

Well, it might be more accurately said that "All things must pass".
And that kind of eliminates the dichotomy and the need to ask "Why ?" when confronted with the loss of something loved, or perceived to have been "good".
Well, that's probably enough of that.

We had 'All Things Must Pass' the other day. I still insist that this was a record by The Prunes...
The moderation thing: I don't know the answer, but I suspect that you are on the right lines with your speculation. It is still possible to get things moderated, but it involves the slightly convoluted process of making somebody aware of something that needs 'fixing', and this can take a little while if you target the wrong person - I wouldn't rate your chances of getting a response from Synt MD very highly at present, for instance - reasons on the aforementioned thread.
Similarly, I have no idea of the final fate of these forums. Not only that, but I'm not even sure of who gets to make that decision. Yes, the absences have been noted, and you could be forgiven for wondering if there wasn't a plan just to let the whole thing implode upon itself - it would probably only take a few malicious threads, after all...
But that wouldn't be very good - even if the forum does disappear in the form that it is now, I'm sure that most people would prefer to have happy memories of it. And anyway, hasn't there always been a theory that it's best to quit whilst you're still ahead?

And once everyone gets all their feathers to relax, someone may have an arcane interest to know what stemmed William's reference in the first place. "Pro Support" posted some interesting and helpful comments in RadioKenny's "Holy Smackers" thread (page 3) on July 18.

Thanks MC, but I got the impression Steve was trying to tell me that he had some sort of personal knowledge about the nature of the absences and that it was an awkward or touchy subject.
But I thought since I had just seen one of the guys post an extremely loose and uncharacteristically outgoing statement of "affection" (Your link), it would be safe to go find this thread and throw it out there.
However, the fact that he still didn't respond at all may lend some clues.....
I don't know, I didn't think that a "What have I been doing lately ?"
kind of reply from any of the Synt. people was simply asking too much, especially since one of them was posting in a thread on the same page. He could have made something up for all I cared, but I thought ignoring the thread was just plain rude and unfriendly.
I got the sense that Steve thought it was the other way 'round....

I picked that up too for a couple of reasons, and really think that Steve indeed is on to something. Plus, it just makes too much sense: it has never been typical of the Synt staff to be rude and unfriendly, so the appearance of such presently really must be chalked up to "extenuating circumstances."
Yes, my link just above really only speaks to the very surface of the matter, which is somewhat more in keeping with your original comment.

Wow! I didn't see this thread the other day or I would have responded to it as well as the other thread.
The truth of it is, the transition to Adobe has kept us all pretty busy. My post a few days ago was the first time I've been able to get to the forums for a while, but now I should be able to post more regularly.
Where I've been? I've been relocating from Phoenix to Seattle. Big change! (and here you guys thought that this Adobe purchase had a big impact on your life! )

Well if you want to know what I meant by 'leave it be' (which was a bit ambiguous, I admit) - then there's your clue. It's been alluded to by several staffers - publically (and privately to me), and since it's one of the more stressful things you can do with your life, I just thought that the last thing these guys need right now is additional hassle. Hence the comment.
For instance, if you read Synt MD's last post in 'Pictures of your studio', you might discover one of the reasons that we haven't heard from him for a while... the rest I told you elsewhere, at his behest.

Haha! Howdy neighboor! I hope you brought your rain coat and umbrella(trust me, you WILL need it)! When I first moved to Portlad from CA I had a hard time adjusting. I mean, you can sleep 24 hours here! Some days I have to keep my lights on 24 hours it is so dark from the rain clouds. 8)

I like it here too......I suppose. I live in the City of Portland now but have lived all over the northern Willamette Valley after originally coming from Minneapolis.
I do miss living in a temperate climate though. You know, where you have 3 months of Spring, 3 months of Summer, 3 months of Autumn, and then 3 months of Winter. Anybody heard of this ?
Is it just me, or, around here, is it literally 9 months of Autumn, and then 3 months of a vague reference to something similar to Summer ? A little monotonous if you ask me.....which you didn't.

Here in South Texas, we have 2 seasons. March to September is summer with June, July's & August's "heat index" hovering around 100. Our winter (if you wanna call it that) is October to February. It don't get cold, it just rains and stays damp. We usually get 2 or 3 freezes a year (light freezes.. maybe low 30's) and they usually don't last more than a day or so. The worst thing here is HUMIDITY!! This morning (@ 0400) it was 91 outside with an "heat index" (that's calculated using the pertentage of humidity to come up with a "index" that's the same as saying.... "feels like") of 97. The last week or so, the temps have run in the high 90's at mid-day with the "heat index's" averaging about 103-106. Enjoy your weather!!

\When I visited Portland a couple of years ago, it as in mid-August, and when I got there it rained for three days! I loved it! The only thing I had trouble with is that when I walked out side of the airport everyone was wearing coats! Me, from living in Arizona, this was highly abnormal for summer!

Another thing about the Northwest. It's nice to be away from weather that can KILL you. Having experienced the -74 in International Falls,MN and the +119 of Pheonix,AZ - cloudy and 55 degrees does have it's good points.
Hi ProSupport, back to the thread topic. What prompted me to start this thread in the first place was that I had noticed a couple of threads had gotten a little bit out of hand, and it brought my attention to the fact that it had been a curious amount of time since a moderator had made an appearance. Frankly, I was concerned that you guys had slipped out the back door, never to return. Most of us probably figure that this forums days are numbered, and that the end is going to be sooner than it is later, so I thought it might be a "sign" of some kind.
But it's good to see you again, and I gotta say, I could think of worse things that could have happened to you after being bought by Adobe than being relocated. I hope most everybody else is getting a similar deal. :)
Edit = spelling

Well, I'm going to try to keep a closer watch on things, but I still might not see everything (at least right away). So if anyone notices anything getting out of hand, please just drop me an email and I'll try to take care of it.
