Have many pieces of tracks - singers backing tracks. When I zoom in/out adjusting multitrack on playback there's a harsh, grating sound. Using purewave / Mona. Disabled board audio allowing just soundcard audio (Mona). Running 37 tracks. Many are bits and sections. CPU runs at 96%. This seems very high. Something's wrong ... any ideas? Just finished reinstall of XPPro with over 200 updates (SP2/SP3/.Net Framework/Office).

It's been a while since I did recording Smiley Forgot the external Mona Control panel is NOT what's key - it's the Adobe Audition 3.1 edit / audio hardware setup / control panel!! - HERE, I can add latency to the mix to ensure multitrack sound is smooth. Since it's a mixdown (not a recording), I can make the buffer size 2048 or even 4096, and not worry about sync.

Back in the audio groove!!

BTW - disabling Asus motherboard nVidia audio shows up in XpPRo as No Audio in Sounds and Audio Devices main tab / Volume. Audio and Voice tabs have default their settings dedicated to Mona Purewave drivers. All works!!! A week of hell. Now back to a glimpse of paradise.
