Problems panning audio in Cool edit pro 2.0
Hi, I have created audio files in Guitar pro 5 to play some keyboard sounds while playing with my band, if you have done this before, you will know you need to have a metronome playing in one channel of the file and the keyboard sounds on the other channel to avoid loosing the beat of the music. I currently use Cool Edit pro 2.0 to edit music, but I have a problem with this audio files: I created a new file in Cool Edit and pasted in left channel the keyboard audio file (mono) and the metronome audio file (also mono), so far so good, but the problem is that I can always hear a little bit of the metronome in the left channel no matter how hard I pan. I also tried it in the program Audacity and it's the same thing. I don't know if this can't be done, or I'm missing a function in the software, or maybe I'm using the wrong software. Can somebody help me please?
Thanks
Diego

Re: Problems panning audio in Cool edit pro 2.0
Your problem is most likely NOT from the software. In most cases, the culprit is the soundcard which converts the digital signal to analog. There may be several causes:
1. Cheap DAC chipset and/or bad wiring on the printed board. 2. Bad wiring to your playback amp or headphones. Often caused by stereo cable with a common shield.
The same 2 causes may also be present on the input side, but obviously not in your case, since you save the files one after the other. Check if you have some print through
in case you have the metronome track present only and the other track filled by silence.
