Very Basic Pitch Control Question

I do a bit of audio editing/CD mastering mostly for dance recitals.  I have a recurring request that I haven't been able to figure out.  I'm assuming they're using basic pitch control on their studio CD players - pitch and speed up or down.  They want their final master CD to include a track slowed down "3%", which means whatever 3% is on their player.  Is it safe to assume that on Audition 1.5 (and probably any version) under Stretch and Resample (preserving neither pitch nor tempo) using a 103% ratio is truly "slowed down 3%"?

It won't be exactly, but it will be close enough that they won't be able to tell the difference... and there's no guarantee that their players indicate this correctly either!

Thanks, that's what I was hoping.  But then I got thinking, does Audition consider 103% just based on the length of the track?  Obviously the CD player does not.

Strictly speaking, I think that Audition would consider that it would be 103% of the selection you made, rather than anything else... if it was a whole track, then it would be 103% of that - including the silence at the start, etc. The other thing you have to take account of is that whilst 97/100 = 0.97, 100/103 = 0.970873 - so it rather depends on where you start with the calculation as to the result you get.
