I've been using CoolEdit and Adobe Audition for about 6 years.  Thanks for the forum, this really has me stumped.  I'm sure the solution is simple, but...

I must have clicked something, and now I cant edit any files in AAUD 1.5.  All files come up in read only fomat.  I can't press play, pause, stop etc or any of the top transport options.  Any suggestions?

If you can't press Play to run the file this usually means that Audition can't find an audio device to play back via. Check Hardware Setup in Audition. Do files play via any other media player?
