Direct to file it is.  Gimme a break!  I just moved  10,000 miles to Australia, most of my Audition stuff is on a slow container ship and I'm not even sure what day it is yet!

When I shifted countries a couple of years ago, all my stuff took three months to arrive by ship.  In the meantime a bought a Zoom unit, a mobile recording box with the nifty drum machine built in.  Tons of fun.  I stopped using it as soon as my computer and software arrived lol.

Hi again.  I used 2.0 for tracking tonight for the first time.  I like the interface - it's pleasant to use.

Question 1: when I use Cool Edit on big sessions and computer resources are an issue, I shut off the meter cuz it makes a difference.  What about all those individual track meters?  Can you shut 'em off?

Question 2: when I finished my session I went into Windows Explorer to see what the session looked like.  First thing: I saved the whole session to a particular folder, but 2.0 saved the session information OUTSIDE the folder.  Huh?  Why doesn't it include the session information in the same folder?  And is there a way to get 2.0 to automatically save the session info to the same folder as the tracks?  Which brings me to part 2 of Question 2: is there a way to get 2.0 to save only the last take of a recorded track?  What a pain having to deal with all those takes of a particular track!  And if there's not a way to get 2.0 to stop saving those unwanted takes, is there a way to avoid it while I'm working?  Cuz otherwise, it adds a ton of housekeeping to all the other things I have to do with a session.

Okay, the first thing I tried, by way of repair, was to select the takes I wanted in Windows Explorer and copy them to a new folder along with the session information.  2.0 didn't like that, cuz when I tried to open the new session, it wanted to know where all the other takes were.  Not nice.

The second thing I tried was to delete all the takes I didn't want in Windows Explorer.  That worked.  Huh?  How come the session information didn't want to know where they were?

Can't say why 2nd option of your housekeeping worked, but in the first  copying a session changes nothing about internal session info

Hm?  Sorry, I don't understand.  Is 'direct to disc' recording the fix for the problem, or the source of the problem?  And if it's the fix, how do I do it?

Sorry to ask questions about what's probably obvious to you.  The trial version I downloaded doesn't have the Help included, it seems.

Okay, after playing with the trial version for a while and having come to terms with the direct-to-file feature, I'm pretty attracted to 2.0.  I think I'm going to ante up.  But just before I shell out the readies to Mr Adobe, what are the biggest headaches you've found with the program?  I'm not a particularly techno-savvy person (understatement of the year), so I'm anxious about stuff like this.
