WWW

Ima Newbie here. Thanks for this great resource!

Due to budget restrictions, I'm stuck on an old copy of Cool Edit Pro V1.2
I've just begun doing more production work in my home studio. This version doesn't allow an OPEN or SAVE as MP3. I have to convert elsewhere before/afterwards which is a pain.

I've searched the forum with different parameters and keep getting 8-9 pages of results that appear after a page or three to be anything BUT what I'm looking for.

Is there a plug in that will allow this version to open/save MP3 files?
Where can I find that?
Are installation instructions generally included?

Thanks for your understanding and patience.

Welcome to the forum.

The MP3 plugin for CEP1.2 had to be purchased as an extra, and it hasn't been available for many years now, I'm afraid. I didn't bother with it - I just used CE2000 instead when I wanted MP3s - MP3 creation was included free with that!

WWW

The file you want is mpeg3.flt - but I doubt very much if you can find it on the web today.

Personally, I wouldn't bother.  Just download any one of many free  wav > mp3 converters and use that insted.

Thanks gang. I already use Goldwave to convert, it's just a hassle and end up creating a lot of unneeded duplicate (Wav/MP3) files.
