So I downloaded the tryout version of AA 2.0 , Recorded  and mixed some sessions  , and Last week the program crashed on a session i was working on!

and when I tried to recover buy running the program again , this is what I got :

And every time I try to run AA2.0 the same thing happens , tried to load sessions but again the same runtime error.  angry

Said to my self , " cod be a problem with the Tryout version" ,

so I purchased the program and received it today

Inserted the  CD , and ran the installation , then I activated AA 2 by phone

Finished every thing as detailed , when the program loaded , again same Errors in the same message boxes

AA 2.0 Just wont Work

There are a number of things that can cause this - but the most likely thing is a corrupted .xml settings file. The fix for this is gloriously simple, and goes like this:

Navigate to C:\Documents and Settings\{username}\Application Data\Adobe\Audition\2.0 and delete the file audition_settings.xml

What will happen then is that next time you start Audition, this file will recreate itself, and everything should be fine.

Other things that have been known to cause problems that give R6025 errors relate to dodgy VST plugins and external controllers. But since the installation was working previously, and Audition is known to be very fussy about its .xml files, this seems like the most likely cause.

It's also worth noting that if you have installation problems, you are also entitled to free telephone support from Adobe.

WWW

Steve,

I've just had this problem, however, when I searched (*.xml) file there was no file like you described.  The path: C:\Documents and Settings\{username}\Application Data\Adobe\Audition 2.0 : Documents and Settings didn't reveal the folder having my user name, only the Administrator and owner folders.  I tried to look all over for that file and couldn't find it. Can you help me?

PS.  I just unplugged my Red Rover, also.

Do you have the file attributes set so that hidden files are visible?

I tried this several times and still come up with the error.  What is the next step to fix this? I hope not reinstalling.

I'm afraid it is - but it's not that difficult. Use the Windows uninstaller, but you can keep the activation on the machine.

In my case, the only way I could bring it back to normal was uninstall it completely - even to where I had to re-activate.  Kept on coming up with "#1722" errors.
