Hi Folks,

This is a problem that has not yet been solved on the Adobe user forum. Perhaps someone has an answer.

I am trying to synchronize an external midi software (Voyetra Record Producer) using AA 2.0 as the master. I am using a good virtual cable to transmit SMPTE code to the midi program, using AA 2.0 as the master.

Everything works well if Audition is in the play mode. Problem is that as soon as the record button is pressed, Audition stops sending the SMPTE time code and nothing happens. The slave software sits silent. This is not a problem with AA 1.5 or Cool Edit Pro since the SMPTE code is sent both during recording and playback.

Has anyone successfully sent the SMPTE code from Audition 2.0, as the master while in the record mode.

Thank you,
John Kennedy

Well, got my question answered. SMPTE failure to send in the record mode is a bug in AA 2.0 and there is no planned patch to fix it.

Advice is to not use the SMPTE send function (although it works fine in the play mode). Slaving Audition to a master SMPTE should fulfill the function.
