In a couple of weeks I will be embarking on the contruction of a Sound Lab Mini Synth (a DIY with a pre-fab PCB), and I thought it would be a nice supplement if I could get an introductory education in electronics simultaneously.

Basically, I'm looking for a book or E-Text that will provide the background knowledge I need for analog synths and other electronics that are had in the same class of knowledge.

I would appreciate any help with links or suggestions to some resources.

Thanks,

MMMM.

If you are only going to get one book about electronics, then there isn't a lot of choice...

Horowitz and Hill - 'The Art of Electronics' ISBN 0-521-37095-7.

It's readable, and has no heavy math content. It also has a useful guide to construction techniques, and is about as comprehensive as you can get for a single book. Nothing else gets even close.

I have The Art of Electronics and the Yamaha Sound Reinforcement Guide, (which surprisingly has ALOT more than sound reinforcement info in it).  I reference both often and a couple of semesters ago, I brought both of them to a digital editing class and the instructor checked them out and then went and bought himself copies!!  Definitely good to have around.

I used this in school (a few years ago) - it is a very good book.
