Just put CooLEdit2000 on my Windows XP and am having trouble with the playback when I record a CD track. The Cd sounds fine, but the playback recording is very low-volume. Had this similar problem with CoolEdit 96 on win98 and fixed it by turning off the microphone, but on XP that same action causes nothing to be recorded at all. The drivers are Realtek HD Audio input/output. Any ideas?

Are you recording your input from a CD player?  If yes, you might try ripping the tracks from the CD and then opening the resulting wav file(s) in CE2K.  Search Google on CD rippers.  Here's one for starters:
