WWW

Is it just me? I've just opened a restoration session from 1.5 in 2.0 and although all my DX modules are there in the right order, none of them have their settings in place. Given the way I work it's pretty crucial that a chain of perhaps 8 or 10 FX, which all interact to produce the final result, is correctly set up - this can take hours to perfect.

Was this just my bad luck or is there a problem here with importing older sessions like this? It's simply one track of audio with a rack of precisely tuned FX...

FX don't transfer well between 1.5 and 2.0. My experience has been that I have to strip all the FX (resident and plug-ins) off the 1.5 sessions to get them to even play in the new version. It's a little time consuming and requires a bit of documenting, but it's worth the effort.

I've noticed that I had to rebuild some of the often used presets (Thump Bass in the dynamics plug for instance) in 2.0 because they were not carried over. I guess the new version looks for those 1.5 presets and can't find them.

Hope this helps

One of the questions I had after trying out the demo (which I hadn't got around to asking here yet) may be related.  The question is what happens to AA<2 Wet/Dry mix envelopes on import into AA2?  AA2 no longer seems to have these types of envelopes.

I'll have to look more carefully then.  I tried a few weeks ago, so can't remember if it was something I actually encountered, or it was a "hey, these envelope types are gone, what would happen if...".  I should just try it and see, of course.
