I downloaded the tryout today.
The very first impression was not so good: the installer crashed. Tried to repair: again. Uninstalled, installed again: success, TwoZero started smiley.

So here are my first thoughts and questions. I switched from 1.0 so some comments may be outdated.

I don't like the new icon and the new splash screen. Too poetic smiley

Good that the I can still grab and throw the balls, there are even three of them. But why the new balls are not colourful anymore? I had no time to check if the rest is there.

Good that the interface can be turned back to dark grey (thanks Ozpeter!). Dark works better with audio smiley. The panels look nice, though the tabs take up some space - 2.0 needs large or dual monitors more than 1.0. I still don't feel well with docking/undocking but I'l learn it, I hope.

The Spectral view is absolutely fantastic.  It's soooo fast now!  And I love how much can I adjust in the display without going to options. The logarithmic view is great. Edit: Multi-resolution - excellent idea!

Lasso tool: great. It's easy to create a logarithmic band-pass noise sweep - just switch to logarithmic view, generate noise, draw an oblique band and trim! I remember that someone requsted a Brush tool - this seems to be close.

When I read in the help file about moving the selection I understood that it's about moving the audio which is selected. Would be nice, but it's only moving the selection over audio.  Moving audio requires cut and paste. By the way, when I played with Lasso in logarithmic view, the program crashed once.

Indeed, as someone pointed out, a Marquee'd or Lasso'ed selection should be playable.

Good to have the 'All supported media' option in Open dialogs.

Why the measures displayed in Statistics and in Group Waveform Normalize are not described precisely in the help file again? And still it is unclear why don't they agree with each other.

In Frequency Analysis there is an upper limit of FFT-size beyond which the display is not updated during playback.  Why, why, why has the limit been kept at 8192 since CE2K??? I'm sure that my computer can do it at 65536 point FFT!

At least, I can use Frequency Analysis for monitoring input - good!

Why are Invert, Silence and Reverse called Apply Invert etc. in the Effects window?

Spectral Pan Display shows the pan (left-right stereo) position of every frequency in an audio file

I don't  understand: does this display show anything related to frequency? If yes, what and how?

And two questions on MV:

In 1.0, I could adjust Wet/Dry of each effect separately.  In 2.0, I can see only one Dry/Wet control for the whole effect rack, that is, for all effect of the track. How can I adjust each effect separately?

I understand that even if I don't use an external control device, I can modify various parameters with Automation envelopes.  I can do it during playback. But why I cannot change which envelope is displayed in a particular lane during playback, but only when audio is stopped?

No, it is just showing you amplitude/stereo position.
Brighter colours represent higher amplitude, as per previous spectral view tools.

You should be able to use sends, instead of input/output for this. Might take you a little while to adapt to how many options you have now! Smiley

Yeah, you have to stop the transport to change which automation lanes are displayed. Don't know why... just is.

Thanks, I think I figured it out. Quite complicated, but probably more flexible. Or maybe there is a simpler way?
I set up two buses, each with one effect. From my track I created two pre-fader sends, each for one bus. The output from the buses is directed to master.

Now I can control Wet/Dry in each Bus, either in the Effect Rack, or with Insert FX:Wet/Dry envelopes. Or I can control the effects parameters with their envelopes (This can be also done if effects are put directly to a track).

Or, if the track output is routed to Master (rather than to None) I can control relative level of dry versus processed audio using the track fader on the one hand, and track send level knobs and bus faders on the other hand.

I can see now that no routing can be changed while playing.  Could be maybe useful sometimes, but I can imagine that programming it would be not very easy.
