Audition 2 and ASIO - problems

Just tried the "Ambience" test with Tracktion version 1 (the free one needless to say) and performance seems broadly in line with Audition's figures.

In tracktion (free, version 1.6.0.1) I was able to add 8 Ambiences without hiccup (and it only utilized one processor).  That is 1 more than I could with AA2.0.  Like your test, the performance seems to be similar on both, for VST effects.

Hmmm... pretty sure I saw it on the Sonar forum.  Maybe search there for "VST wrapper" or the like.
