In AA1.5, once you have sorted out the best combination at Options>Device Properties, you will see "Playing as 24-bit" or "Recording as 24-bit" as appropriate, in the bottom left corner of the main AA window. This is true for EV and MT. If you get it wrong you'll see "Playing/Recording as 16-bit". With some combinations you'll see "Playing/Recording", and I've never been able to determine exactly what that means, although you can check the bit depth of a recorded file (usually 24-bit in my case).

Now we have AA2.0 and ASIO, and I only see "Playing" or "Recording". I assume this is correct (my recorded files are 24-bit), but the question must be asked:-

Has anyone seen "Playing as 24-bit" or "Recording as 24-bit" in AA2.0?

Or a better question: What do you see on your system?

I see the exact same thing you do.... "Playing" or "Recording".  Cheesy

Just checked version 1.5, and I get the same messages (playing, recording). I do remember seeing the "Playing as" message...but don't remember when.
