We are very sorry but we are having some teething trouble with this release. We are doing everything we can to sort it out and will contact you as soon as possible.

Cheesy

In all seriousness, we're aware of the issues. Last week I was in a flurry of conversation trying to figure out why people weren't getting their registration email pointing them to the downloads and we think we figured it out, but of course a lot of the people who need to fix it didn't come in on the weekend. I'm optimistic that we'll have the solution this week. In any case, if you continue to not get the email, call customer support and tell them your problem and they should be able to provide you the link to the download.

Cheers,

--Hart

Hmmm, this still doesn't address the issue of the missing Loopology etc.

All it would take is a simple reply "We are very sorry but we are having some teething trouble with this release. We are doing everything we can to sort it out and will contact you as soon as possible" etc.

Even if these exact words haven't been posted by Adobe representatives, I bevlieve that they MUST feel that way.  Especially Hart, who seems to be very interested in the reactions of the "Audition Community".

I'm sure, and silence is golden rolleyes  after all!

Gosh doesn't Adobe want to address the issue of the missing Loopology files? Mr Hart?

OKAY ENOUGH ALREADY!

I'm sure that there will be an answer to this - although I have no idea what form it will take.

Here we see Steve adopting the agnostic point of view, whereas Mark appears to be drifting towards atheism...

Well, this is based on the premise (observed before) that Adobe ultimately don't like short-changing people. Okay, we know that a few things haven't worked out perfectly with this particular release - but I think that there are reasonable grounds not just based on 'belief' to suppose that a resolution of some sort will be forthcoming.

But, all those uncompressed loops would be one heck of a download...  huh

Well, look at it this way.  Adobe are in a bit of a no-win situation here.  They announce the product and people will want it immediately, so can you imagine the grumbling if they didn't offer a download option?  But having everybody download gigabytes of data is just not viable, I mean listen to all the complaints about the size of the tryout version.  I don't know what the answer is (apart from something like BitTorrent, but how do you ensure only those licensed to are downloading the extra content?).

I'm sorry I wasn't clearer. Every person who buys the download version should receive links to download all the loops (all 4+ GB worth) and another to view the training movies that come on DVD with the boxed version. Those who register (which is automatic in most, but not all, countries when you buy the download version) should also receive an email message with the link to download the registration incentive of your choice, which includes the option for the Tube-modeled Compressor.

We've been looking at the records tracking this down and it appears that most people were getting the loop link, only the first people found the training link was down, but that a high percentage (100% for the first day, and then 20% or so later on) were not getting the registration email. Even with those first failures, just one is too many. We are tracking that down and hope to have a solution to all of these problems in the next day or two.

If you have already bought the software and have not received any or all of these links, you can call customer service and they will work to get them to you. I haven't posted anything official yet because we haven't definitively fixed it yet. There are a lot of moving pieces to all these systems so it's a non-trivial problem. We're very sorry for the inconvenience and we hope that we'll have it spinning like a top so that others won't have the same frustration.

Also, I'd just like to set expectations about my presence on this forum. I spend most of my time in meetings, traveling, or (ironically) traveling to meetings. And when I'm not doing one of those things, I'm probably trying to get something done in the office or (as is all too rare) spend time with my family and friends. All that means that while I love reading these forums to keep up on what's going on it'll likely be days between my visits, and later it might stretch to weeks depending on my schedule. So if you don't get a response here in a day or two it just means I haven't been back yet or I missed the thread.

As Steve G says, Adobe really doesn't like to short-change people. Plus, in this case, "Adobe" is largely the same people who were at Syntrillium, and we still take a great deal of pride in delivering the best product we can just like we did before the acquisition. It pains us personally when we see these glitches and we are working hard to make them all right as soon as we can.

Cheers,

Thanks Hart,

That was all I was trying to get, a simpe explanation and statement of intent. I have worked a lot with sales, marketing and communication and I know how incredibly easy it is to keep people happy by just communicating. That's why I was getting frustrated - I can wait a long time for freebies and loopology, but I get impatient with silence wink

Oh and by the way, kudos for being on the forum - very good move, and also for the product - very nice indeed

I really don't hate Adobe (honest), but I have to tell you the nexty stage of this storey.

I received an e-mail from the Norwegian help desk (the Dutch people, remember?) saying try this link to download the Tube Compressor, the web page was exactly the same as last time - no link. He phoned me up, tried a few things and then went back to try and fix it again! rolleyes

Today I got a new e-mail with a link purporting to lead me to the Loopology downloads Shocked

Can you guess what comes next?

I go there and there they are - 20 Loop zips and 15 Beds......but.....none of the bed zips work, they all return:

Not Found
The requested URL /pub/adobe/magic/cooledit/beds/rockabilly-country_beds.zip was not found on this server

Oh well at least I have the loopology, I guess they will take a while to donload with file sizes from 94MB to a whopping 606MB (well that is funk rock), but strangely when I download Blues (207MB) the download is only 16.5MB, which is odd for uncompressed 32 bit loops, and when I unzip it it is still only 42.7MB.

So I try again with the reggae file 374MB - 26.7MB zip - 46MB unzipped huh .

Now I wouldn't dream of making a fuss, you now me, sweet natured and forgiving ( shocked ), but I must say I really do begin to wonder. Particularly as all the files seem to date from 2003 - Are these just the same loops as before then? Sad  - if someone had said I wouldn't have bothered - I assumes they were updated! So it's only the beds that are new (that I can't get of course) rolleyes

Can anyone with the box version tell me how big the blues and reggae loopology folders are supposed to be (see I am happy to consider that the file sizes given were wrong, but then why did it need a DVD instead of a CD)?

I have the box, but I've only opened it to see how shiny the disks are  rolleyes .  I might have some time to play tonight - which would include installing 2.0.  If nobody beats me to it, I'll gladly tell you what I find on the loops DVD (which, if I'm not mistaken, is titled LOOPOLOGY).

Thanks, Mark, this is a new clue that's a critical bit. It appears that some local versions of the Adobe web site have not been updated and that's the reason for the continued Loopology troubles. Doh! Drat! Curses! I'll *personally* mail you a DVD of the loops if you never get access via the web. Smiley

Goodness I feel like a broken record, but we'll work this out! Now I just have to fight across time zones, too...
