If you want some sort of an idea of the sort of performance you can get from Audition 2.0, then you should read this document carefully, all the way through. Towards the end, it outlines what a few of the hardware limitations are - it's worth noting very specifically what it says about RAM, for instance...

Is AA2.0 for XP only?  Will I have to upgrade from Win2000Pro to install it?

The short answer.... yes.
I tried to install it under Windows 2000 Pro when I first joined the beta testers team, and, as SteveG so rightly summised in the thread (which is now locked in Audition Wish List), the installer detects your OS and will not proceed.

It runs on 64bit cpu's, but I assume it still is 32bit...
