If you need to reinstall CoolEdit 2000 for any reason, and you've forgotten the steps, here is a reminder of the sequence you have to follow. You should note that this is only going to work if you have all of the correct files and registration details to hand - if you have lost your details, then it is possible that Adobe may be able to give them to you again, but I have not had this confirmed recently. All of the modules have to be registered in the same name - you can't buy a registration from somebody else's module and use it with your registered CE2000, either.

Here is a list of all of the files that you might need. This is for a full installation - if you haven't got all of the Add-ons, then you won't have all of these files; only the first two are neccessary for a basic installation.

ce2kmain.exe
ce2kreg.exe
ce2keq.exe
ce2knr.exe
ce2kphat.exe
ce2kstud.exe
ce2ktoys.exe
ce2kdx.exe
tremolo.exe

The ce2kdx.exe file is the system addition to get DX plugins working - and tremolo.exe was the free plugin they gave away with it.

Cool Edit 2000 Installation and Registration information.

1)  Run the program ce2kmain.exe - this gets the basic demo version going.

2)  Run the registration program c2kreg.exe and enter your registration
    details:

    Name: {
your registered name}
    reg. no: {your registration code}

3)  Close Cool Edit.

4)  Run whichever Add-on programs you've got - the order doesn't matter.
    (There is an option to register these when installing them, but this
    has been known to fail - it's best avoided.)

5)  Restart Cool Edit, and go to 'Help' and select 'Buy Add-ons Now...'

6)  Select each Add-on and enter the unique registration code for it. You will
    have to close and restart Cool Edit between each registration.

7)  When you have registered all of the Add-ons and restarted Cool Edit,
    registration is complete.[/list:u]

Further information

No more information has been forthcoming - the only other comment wasn't directly applicable, and has been split into a new thread, so this thread is now locked. If anybody has anything they wish to add, then please PM me with it.
