on my echo mia for some reason when I am using ASIO on any softsynth, i cant record in cool edit! The settings on ASIO is 44.1 etc, and im recording at the same. I have a feeling its locked into 96k for some reason...

here's cool edit / adobe audition's exact error message--

"the specified format is not supported or cannot be translated. Use the Capabilities function to determine the supported formats. Try converting a sample type to a setting compatible with the sound card, or choosing a different device (eg. Wave Mapper) under settings/devices and try again."

I really don't get what the problem is.

I have my main sounds and the softsynth (be it buzz, psycle, modplug, or synthedit) asio routed to virtual inputs 1/2 , adobe audition's output to 3/4.

By the way, when i change to wave mapper or directx, it works properly again, and I can record it.

I found a utility that pops up my ASIO control panel and it pretty much says it's running at 44.1. So what is the problem? can someone help? I appreciate this immensely.

wait wait wait. Im not asking cool edit to support it. I just want to record a signal im sending OUT from ASIO drivers through an input. As if it were an audio signal. Are you saying cool edit cant do that?!?!?

Yes, that's exactly what 'no ASIO support' means...

I suspect that this situation will be rectified at some stage - an awful lot of people have requested this, and it would be a bit of a faux pas for Adobe if they don't fix this at some stage, I think.

I'm having the same issue now with my new Mia.  With the old SBLive, I was able to record Garritan Orchestra (VSTi) into Power Tracks (audio/MIDI sequencer), and then play out of Power Tracks and record into AA. Now with the Mia, I'm getting that same "Capabilities" message when I try to do that.  Any workaround yet on your end, Ron? I suppose if I have to, I can select a non-ASIO Mia driver in the Garritan setup, but I get bad latency then.  However, everything's already been recorded, so perhaps it wouldn't matter just for recording the mix. Hmmm, have to give that a go...
