Hi. I'm looking for a sound card that will have both the midi instruments AND an optical input. Here's why. I have just replaced my VIA mobo with a soyo (based on the recommendation of someone here...thank you:)) that has an intel chipset. I have a Terratec EWX 24/96 at the moment. But when I use my soft synth, I have to route the output of the Terratec into another card via optical i/o since the gigastudio co-opts the card and CEP can't record the output. Before I was using a Zefiro Acoustics ZA2 digital card's optical in. But that is an ISA card and I can no longer use it. Also, with my old old computer (Gateway 266/PII) I could use the SB copy card, the ZA2, and the Terratec all together. That way I could use the midi instruments on the SB along with all the other card I/O options. What I would like to do is get a single additional card that will have both the midi instruments AND an optical input. Is there a consensus on what card might fit that bill?
