Yes, it is rather a silly question on a competitor's website...

Firstly, I don't use FL. That said, I wouldn't necessarily call them a "competitor". I thought that FL was nothing more than drum sequencing software.

Use the playlist to put the parts in order in which you would like them to be . you can use more than one at the same time.

first off, marcon, if you have a valid registration there are forums you can access at the website. it not, you can go to www.kvr-vst.com and ask there.

and BTW, no offense, but FL is as much of a competitor to cool edit as breakfast cereal is to milk. Wink

Umm... its a _lot_ _lot_ more than that now! I have put together a number of entire tracks using nothing else. You can hear one if you go here:

http://www.andyebling.clara.co.uk/sampletracks/

Anyone else who uses fruityloops might be interested in a mailing list I setup:

http://www.freelists.org/cgi-bin/list?list_id=fruityloops

I don't see FL as much of a competitor to cool edit either ;-)

It surely must have improved (drastically) since I first heard/saw it. It was mostly a drum sequencer and not a very good one.

Absolutely! I originally bought it with the intention of using it to create drum loops to arrange in Logic. Within a day however I had switched to doing whole songs in fruityloops and stopped using Logic altogether - it really is that good. That was this time last year.

The current version is 3.56 and 4.0 is soon to be released with a truck load of cool features that will take it even further.

I strongly recommend you try out the latest demo which you can download off any tucows mirror:

http://www.tucows.com/mmedia/preview/209204.html

Prepare to be amazed! (btw. the screen shot on tucows is a little out of date).

Thanks! Of course, it was all made possible by fruityloops - I could never have made that track in Logic ;)

Fruity Loops is the best sequencing software i have ever used. you can almost do ANYTHING with it.

Just go to VIEW section of the menu and select the playlist. The steps are numbered down the left 1-999. that is how you place your steps together.

If you want to hear a sample of what Fruity Loops can do.. check out my web site under the Techno section.

Hehe, sounds like someone else has been bitter by the fruityloops bug! Incidentally, there is a review of FLStudio 4.0 (a hefty upgrade to fruityloops) in Computer Music magazine this month.

It's a competitor, it's not a competitor, blah blah...

It's a competitor only inasmuch as both progs can assemble sequences of loops, which is all I meant. But beyond that, I wouldn't really say that there was much similarity. Yes, it has come on in leaps and bounds. Yes, I've seen the review in Computer Music as well. Hmm... wonder what they're going to do for reviews now that they can't steal them from SOS any more?

Ouch! I believe the problem was with a single freelance writer, rather than "they" as in the whole of Future Publishing ;)

Ahem... this is going rather OT!
