BBN Posts: 2	Posted - Wed Sep 04, 2002 9:59 am  Hello, I have the MOTU 2408 set up on my PC and I've been recording with SONAR. I downloaded the Cool Edit Pro trial software and I'm finding it waaaay easier to use than SONAR. The only problem is, I can't figure out how to map the inputs on my MOTU to Cool Edit. When I try to change the 'Recording Device' on the tracks, the only thing I have to select from is channels 1-8, Left or Right...? Does Cool Edit let you record 8 seperate tracks at a time? What am I missing?

This is from the MOTU website: "Enable full Wave support for legacy (MME) software (Less efficient)" box must be checked when running recording/sequencing software that is not optimized to support WDM with a MOTU audio interface. As of this writing [4/2002], only Cakewalk's Sonar supports WDM. This box has no affect on ASIO applications. Be aware when not checked that outputs will not be seen as channelized pairs when viewed in the Windows multimedia Control Panel, yet they will appear independently in applications such as Sonar." Since CEP supports WDM, I am not sure what this means... It looks like CEP does not fully understand the MOTU WDM encoding or something (anyone have any insight?). Anyways, checking that box will give you "channel 1-2", "channel 3-4"... under the recording devices options Cheers
