A community radio station that I do some work for is using CE 2000 to make a timed recording over the weekend. Each Monday, a volunteer does a simple edit and saves the file. However there have been times where the volunteer does something stupid or the computer crashes. The recording is then lost.

I have not been able to master the script feature. Can you tell me if it is possible to create a script that executes a timed recording which saves the file at the end of the recording? Or is it possible to write a script that executes at a particular time?

I only see one way to do this, and it's not pretty...
Since the timed record function is limited to whatever parameters you give it, writing this into a script is not going to work more than once, since it'll have the same date every time (unless you rewrite the script each day). You'd also have to leave CE open so that it could execute the script at the proper time. The only other option I see is to choose to record "right away", but then you'd have to figure out how to get CE to open at the proper time and to get your script started.

Maybe someone else has a better idea... My brain is fried (all night session....)
