Hello Citty. Well, there are many possibilities here...First of all, what version of Cool Edit are you using? The general 'gist' when it comes to burning files as audio on a CD requires that they have the following attributes:
1) Sample Rate of 44100Hz;
2) 16-bit Stereo;
3) Windows PCM Wave format.
Now, depending upon which version of CE you're using (2.0 for instance) or if you plan on burning in another app (like Roxio or Nero), you have more options and can burn from other file types...but the above holds true for ANY burning application.
Let us know.
