I am recording a file with CEP and saving it as xx.wav(44100hz 16bit)
1. Is ther any batch utility that I can run to convert this file into a different wav file(8000hz 8 bit) not using CEP, for example using DOS batch file to do this conversion.
My Operating system is Win98.
Today I am converting the wav file into mp3 with Lame utility, I wonder if there is something similar for wav to wav.
2. I wonder if there is a similar utility to convert wav into vox not using CEP.

Maybe it's just me....... but, why would you post on a Cool Edit forum and ask if there is some other program you should be using? Just curious! Good Luck Voodoo

Nothing wrong with CEP, I am recording and editing with CEP(its my main tool and I like it), But to save me time and be more flexible, I want to do the secondary conversiong just before I am sending the file using Dos command in batch file, without openning any software.

I don't know of anything off-hand that will readily do this. I'm sure someone has something out there, though I doubt that there would be many on this forum who would use it.
But, I do know that if you just open your file with Cool Edit and run a CE script on it, it's usually very quick. Try building a simple conversion script using the batch process, and don't forget to uncheck the box that would make it pause at dialog boxes when it's run (you obviously wouldn't want this).
Best... -J
