I recently downloaded the SciFi Cool Edit Plug-In from another link other than Glimadyne. The Glimadyne Software company link is either broken or the comany's gone out of business. The shareware download seems to be fully functional and have tried playing around with how my voice would sound as a Cylon warrior or the Dard Lord. Very cool! However, there leaves the question of how to register the shareware download. I've initially tried to do a web search, but have been unable to locate the Glimadyne Software company web site. Can anyone help here? Your help would be greatly appreciated.

I had a look for a solution to this a couple of months ago and obviously didn't get quite as far as fogman35 did, because I couldn't even find a mirror/alternative source. I also have an unregistered copy of the plug-in, and am equally stuck. Short of getting somebody to 'unpick' it, I have no ideas. Like fogman35 says, has anybody got any more info?

Steve

I'm curious:
What does this plugin do and where did you find it?

It does some weird vocal transforms which are great for commercials, spots or anything else needing completely off-the-wall vocal treatments. I now think I know where to get the unregistered software, but beyond that - virtually no clues, except one, that I haven't investigated yet - maybe somebody else would like to?

As far as I know, the guy who wrote the plugin is called Jim, and there was an email address:
I got this from a message board archive, and I have no idea whether it's really him, or whether the address still works, or anything. But you could try it...

Thanks for the plug-in Steve - I am not worthy! ;)

If anyone has any news on registering the SciFi plug-in please post it here - I have tried it and am eager to register it - to get rid of that rather annoying 10 second delay!

Thanks guys!

Just to draw attention to it - the answer seems to be in 'SCiFi Deluxe CoolEdit Plugin'

Does anyone know if it works with CE Pro 2.0. I've downloaded it unpacked it in the same directory as CE and then refreshed my effect list but CE isn't recognizing it. Please help if i'm doing something wrong

thanks

It has problems with CEP2.x as far as I recall. I tried it a while ago, and it crashed the prog. Works fine with 1.2a, I think, and it's definitely okay with CE2000.

If you're looking for a similar sounding plug in, try Pi Warp. It's probably more expensive though.

For anyone who wants this plugin (and it IS very badass- presets for cylon, vader, x-wing squable, service droid, Boba Fett, Stormtrooper, BattleDroid and MANY more cool effects.. plus it's fully adjustable to make your own presets) I believe it's still available thru:

Another plug in that is similar to the original Sci-Fi deluxe is the new iZotope Spectron.
