I've tried everything you mentioned. I have configured the Delta Panel for playback and recording. I have unmuted all the inputs and outputs. I've stereo linked the faders and raised their volumes. I've done the same for the master. I've gone into the Patchbay/Router and selected the appropriate source for my outputs. Cool Edit Pro recognizes the inputs because when I open a new recording file I initially received an error message that I had the wrong sampling rate. After I matched the sampling rate, 22050, to the soundcard that error message went away. Then I was still not getting anything to record from any of the inputs. Any more suggestions?

Hi JS. As Graeme mentioned, there's very little info to go on here.

I can tell you (as a longtime Delta user) that you must first configure the Delta Panel for playback and recording. By default, all inputs and outputs (including the Master, I believe) are set to 'Mute' position. These show up in the Delta Panel as 'WavOut 1/2, H/W In 1/2, etc'...You'll want to start by 'un-muting' them, stereo linking the faders, and raising their volumes. The same applies for the master. You must then go into the Patchbay/Router and select the appropriate source for you outputs. Typically, H/W 1/2 can be set to Monitor Mixer.

Beyond that, you'll have to consult the Delta manual, but it's pretty thorough. Let us know how you're progressing.

Hi again. Well, at this point the question is..Are you getting signal into the Delta Mixer? Their meters are just as telling as ours...So, if you're not getting levels in the delta mixer, something's wrong with your breakout box, or somewhere else in the chain.

Ok...If you're getting signal into the Delta panel, then you must just not have your inputs configured in the multitrack realm (I'm assuming you're using multitrack, as you mention having signal on the four inputs!)

So, in the multitrack view, go to Options>Device Preferences. There, you will see a drop down list for PLayback and Record devices, with a (1), (2), (3), etc. For device (1), select the 1/2 ins and outs. For device (2) select the 3/4 ins and outs. Click OK.

Now, in multitrack, go to File>New Session and select the sample rate and 32-bit. (incidentally, I don't know why you'd want to record a session in 22k, but i suppose you have your reasons. Standard CD sample rates are 44.1.

On track 1 you'll see a little red "1" . This tells you that you're recording to device "1" OR the Delta 1/2 as selected in the preferences window.

If you click the "1" you can change it to device "2" or you can individually select the Left or Right channel or stereo.

This should get you going, again, assuming that nothing is muted in the delta panel, including the master fader.

I've completed everything you mentioned below. I went into the multitrack vew, then Options>Device Preferences. I selected 1/2 ins and outs for device (1), then 3/4 in and outs for device (2).

The only reason I selected 22k for the sampling rate is because that is what the M-Audio Delta 44 was set at and I didn't know how to change it.

I saw track 1 and the little red "1" . I clicked on the "1" and selected the Left channel.

Nothing is muted in the delta panel, including the master fader.

Still no success. I'm not able to record anything - no sound wave.

I'm hoping there's still something I don't have set right. Got any other ideas?

Jeff
