I am doing a voice recording with an Audio-technica microphone (AT9100), through a Midiman Audio Buddy preamp, and into a Midiman Audiophile 2496 sound card. I am getting a buzzing on playback. I am wondering if it is a "grounding" problem. The sound sounds similar to when my turntable is not properly grounded. Any idea where to start to isolate the source/cause of this sound? How to eliminate it?

Any help is appreciated.

Specifically, how does one best ground a microphone. I think this is the source of the buzzing/humming.

Few questions first, Tom. Is this hum a sort of ticky buzz or a 'smooth' buzz? Assuming that you are using the balanced input, is your mic wired as balanced? Or are you using the high impedance input? Tell me a little more about the mic anyway, as AT don't have it listed(!)
