Okay I have experienced with every single echo in the pre-sets of cool edit pro 2.0 but can't seem to find what I'm looking for. I want to get a light echo that makes the words kind of repeat themselves like hello-(lighter)hello-(lightest)hello if that makes any sense haha please help me out.

Presets are changeable, so you can adjust any and all parameters. Try tweaking things, even outrageously, and see what happens.
But I'm surprised you haven't found even one that should be close to what you want. Doing what you want is exactly what an echo is.
Oh..... try the Multitap Delay. That will give you a different flavor, perhaps more what you are thinking of.

And.. remember that you can use the volume envelopes in tandom with the delay to fade the volume down on the passage.

ya I know how to do it with envelopes but it takes a long time, for a whole song it might take like 2 hours just to do the echos, I'll try the multitap delay.

Or search the manual for "cool time delay" (in quotes) for an alternative technique.
